Shuttle & Taxi information

Click Here for information on shuttle & taxi service from

Sudbury Airport to Laurentian University.

Generally it will be less expensive to arrange for a shuttle service ahead of time.

Shuttles must be booked at last 24 hours ahead of need.

Groups travelling together can save substantially - e.g  the per person rate is $45.00

but a shared shuttle going from the same place to the same place will be

$45 for the first person but only $5 for each additional person.

If you will be going to Laurentian University area (i.e. you are staying in LU Residence)

have the driver take you to EAST RESIDENCE - it’s a multiple-grey-checkered building.

Someone will be there after 4 pm to give you keys and other information.

If you are arriving after 6 pm until 9m pm - it might be best to ask to be taken to the

VALE LIVING WITH LAKES CENTRE (Ramsey Lake road - on the Laurentian Campus).

Some notes about Transportation:

• NB: This is a reminder that non-Canadian citizens will need a Passport for entry into Canada.

• Flying: -  to Sudbury Airport (YSB) essentially there are two choices:

~  Air Canada via Pearson International Airport (YYZ) www.aircanada.com    c. $900 CAD  return from New York City (EWR)

~  Porter Air via Toronto Island Airport (YYT) www.flyporter.com  c. $700.00 CAD NB: seat sales can significantly reduce these costs - it is advisable to check these sites often.

~ An alternate way is to fly to Buffalo, NY and drive north. People interested in this sort of arrangement may wish to contact: Bruce Novak (bruce.novak@iup.edu) for information on car-pooling.

• Driving - one can approach Sudbury via Ontario Highways 400 and 69 (from Toronto and South (Niagara Falls or Detroit) or via Highway 17W (Sault Ste-Marie Michigan/Ontario) or Highway 17E (Ottawa and Montreal). Allow 5 - 6 hours from Toronto, 4 hours from Sault Ste-Marie, 6 hours from Ottawa/8 from Montreal.

The scenery is often spectacular.

And you might even see a moose or a bear, or eagles!
